Closings and the importance of going to the title company.
it is hard for people to take the time to physically go to the title company, to close on a house, whether they're buying or selling. And title companies in the last few years have been extremely gracious to send. Notaries to clients to help get things closed. But I wanted to talk about the potential issues that can come with that.
Notaries cannot explain what the documents say. They are there to collect ID to make sure the correct people are signing collect monies if they have the buyer and there's a cashier's check
If you have a client that you believe needs a little extra with explanations and stuff, it is so important they go to the title company.
Remember that the other thing that is also something to consider is what if the final number is not correct
We had a case when the notary came, her closing statement was different. It was a different number.
encourage our folks to go to the title company if they can.
From April 11th through April 17th, we had 1 contract turned down and 2 closings.
